'I won this trophy for you today'
Considered two of the best young swimmers in the nation, 9-year-old Josh and 10-year-old Reese were fierce competitors. Then, a mysterious bone infection hospitalized Reese for weeks, taking him out of the season. “I just wish everything could go away and I could get back in the pool,” he says. After Josh’s recent first-place finish in a major meet Josh he just what to do. “I won this trophy for you today,” he wrote in a note to Reese. The letter was attached to his hard-won trophy. Josh’s parents say the act of kindness means more than his athletic victories: “A lot of times today it’s about ‘me,’ it’s about ‘I,’” says Josh’s dad, “and our goal with our children is to raise them to be good children.” Find more WPBF - West Palm Beach videos on Yahoo Screen.
